Today with sadness I remember a fallen comrade – Dr. Greg Baker, pastor of Faithway Baptist Church in Canada. June 30, he went home to be with the Lord. His passion for missions marked him as a true believer. Pictured here is Dr. Baker in my classroom during our church missions conference where he was the key note speaker. I very much enjoyed listening to him tell my students about his ministry in Canada. He inspired hundreds, perhaps thousands, to consider missions.
We mourn the loss of a man made great because he was a vessel used of God. It is with great sadness that we lost Dr. Baker by his own hand, but the circumstance of his death does not negate the blessing of his life. Let us all strengthen our resolve to serve Christ in a way that will last for all eternity, and to live in a way that others may safely follow.

Though our hearts cry out, “Why?”… we know one day we will understand. Though we feel disappointment … we know the great Comforter is here. Though we feel despair … we know God will restore our hope. Though there is pain and sadness in our hearts … we know he is safe in the arms of Jesus where there is forgiveness.
We will miss you, Dr. Baker.
